Success Academy Family and Friends,

I am delighted to introduce myself as Billy J Erwin, the School Leader at Success Academy. I take immense pride in my roots, having been born and raised in the vibrant city of Saginaw,
Michigan. My journey through education has been marked by passion, determination, and
numerous achievements.

Upon graduating from Saginaw High School in 1987, I embarked on a higher education journey
at Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and Widener University. At Cheyney, I not only pursued
my academic endeavors but also found my place as the co-captain of the Wolf Pack Wrestling
team. Engaging in various extracurricular activities, I learned the importance of teamwork and
leadership.

My commitment to service led me to participate in the Army ROTC program at Widener
University, where I earned numerous awards. In the spring of 1991, I was honored to be
commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. This significant achievement
marked the beginning of my dedicated service to our country. Following my commission, I
pursued my passion for education and received a bachelor's degree in Education from Cheyney
University.

Continuing my journey, I attended the Officer Basic Course at Ft. Benning, Georgia, further
enhancing my skills and knowledge. In 1993, I returned to Saginaw, where I started my career as
a teacher and coach in the Saginaw Public School District. During my time at Saginaw High
School, I furthered my education by earning a Master's Degree in Secondary Administration
from Central Michigan University in 1996. My pursuit of excellence didn't end there; I later
earned my Education Specialist degree from Saginaw Valley University.

At the Success Academy we have implemented a comprehensive approach to improving and
measuring student engagement and achievement through a blend of synchronous and
asynchronous learning methods, leveraging both online platforms and direct face-to-face
instruction.

By combining face-to-face instruction with online learning platforms, tracking engagement
through observations and technology, implementing differentiated instructional methods, and
leveraging data-driven assessments, the Success Academy creates a dynamic and supportive
learning environment. This holistic approach ensures that each student receives a personalized
education, leading to improved engagement and academic achievement.

As the School Leader at Success Academy, I bring with me a wealth of experience, passion for
education, and a deep commitment to the success of our students. I am excited to be part of this
school, and I look forward to working closely with the entire Success Academy family to nurture
a learning environment where every student can thrive.
