Engineering & Advanced Manufacturing
Program Description
This unique, cross-training program provides a broad exploration of engineering and manufacturing. Using state-of-the-industry tools in an Industry 4.0 Lab, students will build knowledge in design, robotics and automation, fluid power, manufacturing processes, electrical systems, and more. Project management and teamwork skills will be developed through a variety of project-based lab experiences. Exciting competitions in First Robotics and SkillsUSA, a national student organization, will provide opportunities for students to showcase their skills. Nationally recognized business and industry partners offer internships, talent tours, job shadowing, and project-based learning each enhancing students’ career awareness, knowledge, and technical skills. College credit may be earned at Delta College.

Special Program Features
Students may participate in FIRST Robotics, an exciting, international competition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way.
Michigan Design and Build Bridge Challenge – teams use TRAC Skills learned in class to compete for a trip to Lansing to be judged by Civil Engineers from MDOT.
MITES- Various projects involving engineering and design can be entered at the regional and state competitions with many awards and scholarships
possible.A.H. Nickless Innovation Award – A local design challenge where students can win up to $5,000 in scholarships.12th graders complete and present senior projects
SkillsUSA – allows students to compete at a regional, state and national level involving a variety of skills related to engineering.
Team America Rocketry Challenge – A national competition involving a unique rocket design challenge. Finalists are invited to Virginia to compete for a $20,000.00 first prize.
Solar/Electric Vehicle – Allows students to participate in several local & national races. Past teams have raced in Missouri, Kansas & Japan.
Paid and Unpaid work-based experiences may be available.
