Medical Careers
Program Description
Healthcare is the largest and fastest-growing industry in the nation. In this program, students achieve a solid background in the fundamentals of health care and explore a wide variety of health careers. A combination of course work including medical terminology, health care concepts, anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, medical law, and more, combined with work experiences at local hospitals, clinics, and health care facilities provides students with a complete exploration of health care careers. Students will have the opportunity to earn CPR and First Aid professional certifications and will enhance leadership and health care skills through participation in HOSA, a national student organization for students pursuing careers in health care. College credit may be earned at Delta College.

Special Program Features
Students may participate in HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), a national organization that provides opportunities to develop teamwork, personal leadership, and career skills valued by healthcare providers.
12th-grade students will complete and present senior projects.
Students participate in on-site career internships at local hospitals and healthcare facilities for approximately 90 hours of class time during which they participate in and observe medical procedures.
Participation in community service projects.
Unpaid Work Experience may be available.
Participation in clinical internships at healthcare facilities is required
