Welding/Pipefitting Technology

Program Description

Our Welding program provides tremendous opportunities for students to enter a high skill, high wage career. Welding is the most common method for permanently bonding metal. Due to its strength, welding is used to construct and repair cars, appliances and may other products. In construction, welding is used to join pipes, beams, and reinforcing rods. Currently, the Saginaw Career Complex welding program is offered in cooperation with Plumbers and Steamfitters, Local 85. Program emphasis is on SMAW, GTAW, and structural and pipe welding. Due to an increase in industrial construction, there are numerous opportunities for skilled welders in the Saginaw region.

4 cr. Welding Technology
