Mr. Jason Applegate, SASA Theatre Concentration  Instructor, is the newest Michigan Theatre Association Hall of Fame Inductee!

Here is the speech that proceded Mr. Applegate's Induction into the Hall of Fame:

The Michigan Educational Theater Association accepts open nominations for our hall of fame for talented theater educators.  Successful candidates must have a minimum of 15 years experience in theater education with a track record of success in the classroom and production.  The candidate must also have demonstrated service to the Michigan Educational Theater Association, have an active Thespian Troupe, and may also have served the national organization. Each year a group of current hall of fame members meet to review the candidate pool and work to select a successful candidate.

This year’s candidate graduated from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. He completed Master's degreeis in the Art ofTeaching and English Literature at Marygrove College. He has taught for 20 years, 11 of them at Richmond Public Schools before joining the Saginaw Arts and Sciences Academy where he has taught theatre for the past nine.  He is known for strong productions, and excellence in his work with the Michigan Educational Theater Association. He is always willing to pitch in, support, and extend the efforts of his students, fellow teachers, and working artists. It is our pleasure to introduce this year’s Hall of Fame Inductee Jason Applegate.
